Synopsis
Anna is reborn on the day Vittorio Dragna is drugged with the Irish gang's black widow toxin. In her past life, she swallowed the same drug to cure him, became his fiancée, and gave him three sons despite his near-barrenness. But once he seized Los Angeles, he stripped her of the Donna ring, married her maid Lucy, and had Anna killed with cement shoes. Now, Anna shoves the fevered Vittorio off her and pushes Lucy onto his bed. Lucy, the street rat Anna saved, eagerly complies. Anna then goes to Don Jomo Dragna, Vittorio's stepfather, who is also sterile and has named Vittorio as his heir only to keep the five families in line. Anna plans to bear Jomo's children so the throne will never belong to Vittorio. She seduces Jomo, who is shocked but unable to resist. The next morning, Anna slips away, but Vittorio confronts her, demanding to know who she was with. She defies him, and he accuses her of throwing herself at men. Lucy appears, bruised and disheveled, and Vittorio declares he will make her his wife. Anna is unfazed, knowing Vittorio is barren and Lucy cannot bear him an heir. Lucy then drops her innocent act and taunts Anna, before smashing a lamp and throwing herself onto the broken glass to frame Anna. Vittorio bursts in and accuses Anna of hurting Lucy. Anna realizes the game is far from over.
He had her killed and married the maid—so she came back and became his stepmother.
Anna wakes mid-assault. Vittorio Dragna's hands are already tearing her dress, and the drowning panic from her last life floods back. Only this time, she knows exactly how this night ends. In her past life, she swallowed the same drug that poisoned him, cured him, gave him three sons, and watched him take everything—then strip her ring, marry her maid Lucy, and fit her for cement shoes.
So what would you do with a second chance? Anna doesn't run. She shoves his fevered body off, yanks Lucy into the room, and tells her to take off her clothes and sleep with him now.

The Maid Gets Pushed Into the Fire
Lucy's eyes light up before she even finishes pretending to hesitate. Her fingers are already on her uniform buttons. This is the street rat Anna saved from starving—and she's been waiting for this moment all along.
Anna doesn't stay to watch. She stumbles upstairs, heat clawing at her own body, and knocks on the study door of Don Jomo Dragna—Vittorio's stepfather, the man who took her in ten years ago.
Here's the detail that makes this plan so cold: Jomo is sterile. That's the only reason he named Vittorio as his heir—he needs a figurehead to keep the five families in line. Anna's thinking is simple and savage. If she bears the Don's children, the throne has nothing to do with that scum ever again.
The door swings open. Jomo's dark eyes lock on her, surprise flickering across his face. He asks if she's hurt, ready to call his men before she stops him.

She tells him she's in pain right now and needs him.
His breath catches. He grips her arms and asks, "Look at me. Do you know who I am?"

He loses control. He sweeps everything off his oak desk, and Anna notices something she never got from Vittorio—in her whole past marriage, he rushed through and turned his back on her. Jomo doesn't.
Bruises, Bite Marks, and a Man Who Can't Let Go
Anna wakes with marks from her collarbone to her hips. She slips out of the Don's embrace and pads barefoot back to her suite—and the second she steps inside, a hand clamps around her neck.
Vittorio demands to know who she was with last night.
She doesn't flinch. She tells him she was naive and foolish back then, her own fault for always tagging along after him—and that will never happen again. From now on, who she spends her time with is none of his concern.
Then Lucy appears—uniform ripped, hair loose, bruises everywhere. Vittorio's expression melts. He pulls her close and turns back to Anna with pure contempt, declaring that Lucy cured him last night, that she's pure unlike Anna, and that he'll make her his wife when the family is his. As for filth like Anna, she isn't even fit to polish Lucy's shoes.
Anna is completely unfazed. Because the joke is on him. Only she knows how barren he really is. In her past life, even with her rare bloodline, it took endless tonics and painful exams just to carry his children. Lucy can't give him an heir. No heir, no throne.
She tells him she's genuinely happy for their union—and means it.
The Innocent Maid Drops the Act
Vittorio leaves, and Lucy finally shows her real face. She taunts Anna about being bitter—how Anna gave him everything and Vittorio never looked at her, while Lucy, the beggar she picked off the street, was chosen. He loves her, Lucy says. All Anna's efforts were worthless.
Anna barely blinks. She tells Lucy to get over herself—not everybody's world revolves around her precious Vittorio.
That's when Lucy grabs a lamp, smashes it on the floor, and throws herself onto the broken glass, screaming. Vittorio bursts back in, furious that Anna would dare hurt her.
Lucy sobs out her lines—that she took him from Miss, that it's all her fault, don't blame Miss Anna—and the guilt on Vittorio's face hardens into disgust. He raises his hand to slap Anna again.
And then someone says: "Wait."
Who walks in? And whose side are they on?
