Halloween’s Secret Scandal Recap, Cast & Preview

One phone call at the front desk flips Stella Bennett's entire Halloween. The clerk's voice is bright and helpful: "Miss Bennett, the delay spray for room twelve four just arrived." Room 124. Her husband's parents are in 122 and 123. Stella Bennett placed the order himself. In that instant, the humiliated wife becomes the mastermind.

The Package That Broke the Night

Stella was supposed to be downstairs, heading out to celebrate. Instead she stands frozen, watching Stella Bennett in his bathrobe take that delay spray right out of another woman's hands. The blood drains from her face.

Her hands shake as she texts his parents, Stella Bennett and Stella Bennett, to meet her outside room 124 in half an hour. She promises a surprise. Then the thought hardens: "If Owen wants an audience, I'll make sure he gets one."

Stella Bennett, meanwhile, is texting her from his "overtime," sending sweet messages about how much he misses her. Stella forces herself to type back something warm, fighting down every ounce of rage and humiliation. She barely makes it to the trash can before she pulls herself together, fixes her face, and walks back into the lobby.

Mary's Live Stream Sets the Stage

The trap needs bait, and Stella Bennett is happy to supply it. The moment she hears the word "surprise," all her earlier annoyance about Stella's "last-minute change of plans" evaporates. She brags that Stella Bennett always comes through — birthdays, Christmas, and now even Halloween.

Then Stella Bennett says the magic word: live. Stella Bennett wants to record every second so her friends back home will be jealous. Stella seizes it. "Owen went to all that trouble. The whole world should know about it."

She makes them promise to stay quiet and not tip Stella Bennett off. Then she steps away and calls her own parents, Vincent and her mother, telling them to skip the investor dinner and come straight to the hotel. There's something they need to see.

When her parents arrive, Stella Bennett can't resist a dig. She assumes Stella Bennett is about to make CEO and that all his sudden admirers are crawling out of the woodwork. Stella stares at that smug expression and thinks: "Had Owen never told his own parents that the company he worked for belonged to my family?"

Vincent's jaw goes tight. He's picked up on something. Stella just says, "Let's go."

The Closet, the Vote, and the Door That Won't Stay Shut

Stella Bennett keeps texting — the overtime is killing him, he misses her so much. Stella even sends back a cheerful photo to keep him relaxed. Then she rings the doorbell of room 124. A sound comes from inside. Then dead silence. She keeps ringing.

The door opens. Stella Bennett takes one look at her, at both sets of parents behind her, and goes completely white. Stella Bennett fills the silence for her live stream, insisting Stella Bennett is just never big on words — but his actions are solid, every single time.

Stella starts the game. Maybe the surprise is under the bed. Stella Bennett goes gray. The closet, then. He lunges and grabs her arm. "Don't."

She doesn't flinch. "Everything's in this room, Owen. You know that better than anyone."

Her mother turns the search into a group activity — curtains, nightstand, even his suitcase. Nothing. Stella Bennett is barely breathing. Then Stella offers the live audience a choice: the closet or the bathroom? The comments explode past a thousand viewers. Stella Bennett, who has always cared about face, lets her pride win again. "Well, let's start with the closet."

Stella walks toward it, legs like lead, every step hurting down to the bone.

What's waiting behind that door — and who's standing in it — is only the beginning.
